Parents with a third child will receive S$13,000, while the fourth child brings the same amount of S$13,000. Any fifth child and those born after will also qualify for S$13,000. New CDA Benefits

– Enhanced CDA Benefits Package The CDA benefits package now includes additional advantages for families.

– CDA First Step Grant Families receive S$5000 for their first & second child. The grant increases to S$10,000 for the third child and any children born after that.

– Government Co-Matching Program The government matches parental savings at a 1:1 ratio. The maximum matching amount ranges from S$4,000 to S$15,000 based on the child’s birth order.

Spending of CDA Funds

– Preschool and Childcare Fees Parents need to pay regular fees for preschool programs and childcare services. These costs cover the daily care and early education that children receive while their parents are working or attending to other responsibilities. The fees typically include meals and basic learning activities that help young children develop social skills and prepare for elementary school.

– Medical Treatment at Designated Institutions Families can receive medical care for their children at specific healthcare facilities that have been approved by relevant authorities. These designated institutions provide various health services including routine checkups and treatment for illnesses. Using these approved facilities often means that families can access certain benefits or reimbursements for medical expenses according to established guidelines.

– Children’s Insurance Premiums Insurance premiums for children represent the regular payments that parents make to maintain health coverage for their kids. These payments ensure that children have access to necessary medical care when they need it. The insurance typically covers doctor visits and hospital stays along with other healthcare services that children might require as they grow.

– Special Education Needs Some children require additional support and specialized instruction because they learn differently or face particular challenges. Special education services provide tailored teaching methods and resources that address individual learning requirements. These programs help children with various conditions or disabilities to develop their abilities and achieve their educational goals through customized approaches that regular classroom settings might not offer.

Expert Opinions

Family policy experts believe that raising CDA grants for third and later children represents an effective strategy to encourage births in a nation already experiencing declining birth rates. Economists support this view by noting that the program benefits both households & domestic businesses since families can only spend their CDA funds at approved institutions.
